The Nasarawa State Police Command on Thursday confirmed the arrest of five suspects in connection with the killing of Badeh. One of the suspects, Shuaibu Rabo,  in a  confessional video claimed that they killed the ex-CDS because he resisted being robbed of a large sum of money in his possession meant for the purchase of a parcel of land. However, his family denied the allegation, claiming that the police concocted the story to deceive the public. However, the deceased’s associate, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told our correspondent that a crime scene analysis, the bullet’s trajectory and pictures had indicated that Badeh’s killers were not hoodlums. We have also educated our people on this and we all agreed. That is why we decided to place an embargo. And i...

Politics: Buhari rejects electoral bill for the fourth time

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has for the fourth time declined to assent to the Electoral (Amendment) Bill 2018. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly matters (Senate), Ita Enang, refused to state the reasons behind the President’s rejection and said he has communicated to the National Assembly on the decision taken on the Electoral Act. The President had three times rejected assent to the bill, a development which has continued to generate speculations. The first time was as a result of the re-ordering of election sequence. The president also declined to sign the bill on the account of drafting errors. In September, the president rejected the bill for the third time due to what Enang described as “some drafting issues” that have remained unaddressed. Source:  guardian.ng
